CD writing wizard not recognising disk

Hi

We have a Dell Optiplex 170L CP. When I try to run the CD Writing Wizard it
says 'Insert a writable disk to continue' but there is a disk in the drive.
What is the problem and how can I fix it?

Just to add, the drive is a HL-DT-ST RW/DVD GCC-4481B

John, you could try a CD lense cleaner. If your drive reads commercial
CD's OK and not ones you have burned or new disks it could be the drive is
getting flaky.
