CD Writing Wizard - cannot get to

For some reason, my CD writing wizard is no longer working. When I start the
computer (or try to backup files), I get the icon in the system tray telling
me there are files waiting to be written. When I click on the "balloon", it
goes away, but nothing else appears (do not see the usual menu with files
waiting to be written).

I have tried to go back to a system restore point where I know this was
working, but did not seem to help.

Any ideas or places I can look?

If you just want to get rid of the files, use the disk cleanup tool.

Description of the disk cleanup tool in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310312

If you want to write these files to a CD, navigate to the CD Burning folder
at %User Profile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\CD Burning
folder and select File/Write these files to CD.

If the drive does not burn the files, right click the CD Recording drive and
select Properties/Recording tab to make sure that the recording feature is
enabled.

Thanks....I did this manually. Is there any way to get the wizard to start
working again. Now for some reason, even the balloon is not showing up.
