CD writing problem

I receive the following message when trying to copy files
to create a CD...

Windows encountered a problem when trying to copy this
file. What do you want Windows to do?

The options are retry or cancel. I get this error on any
file I try to send to my burner. Drivers and drive are all
ok and it has worked fine i the past!

Do you have any burning program? I'd try that first.

What type of files, what size, and to what kind of CD? CD/R or CD/RW?
Using what CD burning program?

I am using the program built into XP. It does it with any
file that I try to send.
