CD writing problem... "E:\ not accessible"

having a problem with writing much needed files to a cd. my computer will
not even let me open a writable folder. i have a blank cd in my burner and
when i try and open the folder to write, i recieve the following message:
"E:\ not accessible
incorrect function"
please help me.

One cannot write directly to a CD. You must create
the file on your hard drive, save it, then "record" that
file to the CD.
