CD Writer stopped working, D:\is not accessible incorrect function WinXp

After working fine for a long time, my plextor 8/4/32a stopped recognizing
unformatted cd's
I think it might have been after a windows os update. Does anyone know how
to correct this?
I am not using Roxio or any other Cd writer program. Just theWindows XP
Professional software

I get the
D:\is not accessible incorrect function WinXp message

Help!
Hi all, I dont know whats happening but all of a sudden I can play music CDs
but I am unable to copy anything onto a blank CD (RW/or R).
I know a few people out there have a problem, but does anyone have a solution?
