I am trying to copy files onto a cd. I am using a CD-RW
disc. The files copy onto the disk, but when I try to
edit the files, it won't let me. I get a message that
says it is a READ ONLY. I have tried to save it by
dragging and dropping. When I go to propeties and right
click, a box comes up where I can uncheck READ ONLY.
When I do this, and click apply, it gives me an error
message.

XP's built in cd burning program cannot do what you want. If you want to be
able to edit files on the cd and use the cd like a floppy disk, then you
need some cd burning software that does packet writing. Roxio and nero are
two of the best.

If you are using the inbuilt CD burning this is not a CD-RW technique,
but a CD-R one that burns in batches, and you can only erase the disk as
a whole. The files are individually read only, and marked as such . Se
