How do I back up data from a program (quicken) directely
to the disk and not have it written to a temp file and
then have to copy it to the correct folder on the CD. I
have tried Roxio Direc CD but it didn't work and am trying
to use DLA to write directly to the disk but it always
writes to the temp file even with the record button
unchecked for the drive. I want to cut out a step on many
programs that I back up data to different folders on a CD.
Thanks Cliff

First you have to have a version of Direct CD or any other packet writer
that is compatible with XP. Second, before you can write to the CD using
such packet writing applications, you must first use the application to
format the CD. NOTE: this is not the Windows format tool, it is a
specialized format for this purpose.

Once the CD is properly formatted, you can then backup directly to CD from
Quicken; I've been doing it for years and continue to do so in XP.
