Writing to CD

I have been tryibg to write a backup file from Quicken to my CD drive, When
I execute the backup procedure Quicken states that the backup has been
created in XP's temporary CD burning folder and I must burn the file to CD.
I have tried double clicking on the drive letter in MY Computer but nothing
happens. How do I write the file to the CD? Where is the XP Temp CD Burning
Folder so I can see what is in it?

I need Help!!

Double clicking is how to access the contents of the CD, not how to
write to it.

Using the XP built-in writing tools, you should right-click on the
CDRW drive and select the option to write files to CD. It's that
simple.

Of course, all this IS covered in Windows Help.

I have right clicked, left clicked, double clicked, you name it. I don't
receive the messages on the screen stating that I have files to be burned. I
don't know what else to try.

C:\Documents and Settings\"username"\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\CD Burning

Is recording enabled (under XP) for this drive?

To check: Open My Computer, right click the CDRW drive, and select
Properties. In the Properties box, select the Recording tab and make
sure the "Enable CD recording on this drive" statement is checked.

Oh, and please post your comments at the bottom of the message. Bottom
posting makes it easier to follow the thread from start to finish.

As far as I know Quicken has never provided the possibility of "saving"
direct to a CD. My way of handling is (1)create, in my Quicken program
folder, a sub-folder called BackupCD, (2)direct my backup to that
folder, (3)copy contents of that folder to an R/W disc in my CD drive.

Once set up, not only am I able to have my backup files at hand on the
CD, but can also transfer data from my desktop to my laptop Quicken
setup and vice versa - depending on which computer is most convenient
for entering information in the program at a given time.

I have the same problem and am not able to find local settings, etc.

You need to set the system to see those folders and files. Open My
Computer or Explorer | Tools | Folder Options | View. Put a tic mark in
Show Hidden Files and Folders, and untic Hide protected operating system
files.
