CD wont play

Greetings,

I'm attempting to troubleshoot an employee's computer who is having
difficulties with CD playback. Here is the situation:

She is using Nero 6 to burn a 14 second WAV file onto a CD by selecting
Audio CD in Nero. She inserts the WAV file onto the CD, and burns it.
As far as I can tell from my experience in using Nero, she's done
everything in Nero in the correct process.

Upon playback, it shows the track, the length, and it looks like it's
playing, yet there is no audio. We've used both WMP 10 and RealPlayer
Enterprise, no sound in either application.
The original WAV file does play in both applications off her computer,
and other CDs do play in WMP and RP just fine without any problems.

We've both thought that Nero is the guilty party in this scenario. Will
a simple uninstall of Nero and a reinstall fix this problem?

Your help is most appreciated. Thanks.

Diagnose the problem like this:

Unplug your speakers from the back end of your PC.
Plug the speaker into the Front Panel Hole of your CD-Writer called
"HeadPhone".
Play the sound file that you write by inserting the CD.
Check if you can listen the sound. If that is so, it means you need a audio
cable that comes with cd-writer. You can ask for CD-IN cable.

If there is no option of HeadPhone in front of your CD-Writer then borrow
that CD-IN Audio Cable and attach it with your CD-Writer and motherboard.

You can also check the CD by playing it on another PC with that cable or on
a VCD/ACD Player. So if the cd is working fine.

Hope this information helps you, let us know!
