Shut system Down
Open the side
disconnect the cables to the CD drive
Remove the CD drive from the case
Throw it in the Garbage
Go to Computer store and buy a Multi Drive..CD/DVD recorder
install into machine
close machine
reboot
enjoy

If your drive is under warranty then take it to service centre. If not, then
see any reasonable service center who can fix it for you. Otherwise, you can
try it by youself. Its not a hard job.

Let us know!

Well, the emergency eject isn't a one time powered eject. It's a
manual ratchet system. To do a manual eject with it, you have to put
the straightened paper clip in, apply pressure (you'll feel the gears
move). Then pull it back out and repeat. You usually have to do
that a few times before you actually see any real movement from the
tray.

If the CD or some foreign material has really jammed the mechanism,
the last resort is to pull the drive, unscrew the drive cover and see
if you can figure something out. Sometimes it's as simple as tapping
the CD back in alignment, or putting a belt back that's popped off.
Worst case, well, at least you got your CD back...

You left out a step or two. The guy's disc, along with whatever
important data is on it, is still in the drive, and per your
instructions it'd be on the way to the landfill along with the drive.

Typical egotistical response from one who spends way too much money and has
too much to spend, showing off. Losing the CD in it? Phwah! Just buy
another one, right?

Moron.

Perhaps the CD has important data on it, or it's an original music cd?

Turn the power off and retry the paper clip. This is a "manual" eject
and you must encounter some "resistance" before the tray/CD is
slightly "ejected." Once the tray/CD is "poking" out, you can slowly
pull it out.
