CD-RW won't enable

I have a Optorite CD-RW CW4002 that won't enable. Could the driver have been deleted from my computer?
 
I would try physically disconnecting the drive ( just remove the power
connector )
You can also rt click MyComputer>select Prop>Hardware>Device Manager
and rt click on the drive and choose uninstall. Then restart the computer a
couple of times and let XP fully load without it. Shutdown and
reconnect the Power Connector and let XP reinstall the drive.
