CD/RW drive not working

My CD/RW drive has quit working ... although
Device Manager says that it is. When I try to troubleshoot it, it opens up
the Help and Support Center ... but an error message immediately comes up
stating:
" An ActiveX control on this page is not safe. Your current security
settings prohibit running unsafe controls on this page. As a result, this
page may not display as intended".
And I can't go any further into troubleshooting ... this error message
always comes up.
I tried to have Device Manager search for a new driver or rollback to an
old driver, but it says everything is fine and that there are not backed up
drivers.
I just installed a new monitor and a new video card, but the CD/RW drive
wasn't working before that. Thanks in advance ....

Here is a suggestion:
Try uninstalling the driver as well as the drive itself (not from the
computer physically) and see if that helps. Do not forget to reboot before
trying to re-install the drivers.
