CD-RW drive installed properly but doesn't recognize media

My computer tells me that my Sony CD-RW (CRX 175 E) is installed properly but
I am unable to burn files as I get the message that there is no media present
in the E: drive. ??? thanks

Open MyComputer>rt click on your CDDRive Icon and select
Properties>Recording. Look for the checked box
that say's Enable CD Recording on this drive. Check it if not checked. If
all is Ok there then rt click on MyComputer>select
Properties>Hardware>Device Manager>Your Cdrw drive. rt click and choose
Uninstall. Restart and let XP find and reinstall it. Go back and follow the
same procedure.
