CD Roms won't auto detect

After I installed the upgrades to Windows XP and Service
Pack 1, I have noticed that my computer only recognises
the disks in my cd roms after I restart the computer and
they won't autorun. This is a new system and was working
well until then. Do I have to reload XP or is there a
way of reinstalling the cd rom drivers

Please help

I have the same problem!
This is an error which MicroSoft is aware of. They have a fix, but I have
not found it anywhere. The fix will be in XP sp2. Reference is Q817357 in MS
knowledgebase. It seems that certain programs that run corrupts XP so it
can't find files on cd-rom or dvd-rom.

Hope XP sp2 comes soon!
