i had to reload windows 2000 pro on a new hard drive but for the last couple
days I haven't been able to get the cd to work. It show in the bios and also
shows up in safe mode. thanks for any help

Does it show up in Disk Management?

Does it work if you try to boot from it?

Does it work if you try to boot from it...Yes
 
Try deleting the device in Device Management and let the OS re-detect
it.
 
I'm close to stumped. About all I can think of is reinstalling the IDE
driver.
