cd rom wont work anymore

everything was fine till last nite when downloaded the latest windows
media players. when i rebooted my cdrom no longer appears as an icon
in my computer. device manager says its a driver issue but ic cant
reinstall the drivers if the cdrom wont work.

ive tryed roll back and safe mode to no avail.

help

Try using System Restore to restore the system to a point
before the problem arose.

If the solution works you will then need to find out why the media
player update caused the problem before reinstalling the media player
