Some more information would help others help you better. How is your Optical
drive attached? USB ATA SATA etc.. Did it come with your computer? What kind
of computer do you have? Did the problem just recently happen? Has the drive
made weird noises or had errors? Have you made any recent upgrades or
installations?
Click Start, click My Computer, In the open window under Devices with
removable storage is your Cd-Rom listed there? If it is right click it and
choose properties from the drop down menu. Click the Hardware tab and
highlight your CDrom and click the properties button. What is the Device
status? Is Device usage at the bottom set to enable?
