cd-rom tray does not open

is there a way to open the cd-rom tray from the keyboard
or desktop ?

When I push the button on my hardrive the orange light
comes on but the tray does not open ??

You could create a shortcut to "eject.exe". Check Google
for download locations.

Instead of pushing the button on your hard drive, try
pushing it on the CD drive.

If all else fails, most CD drives have an 'emergency release'. A small round
hole on the front. Insert a piece of strong wire (a straightned out paper
clip?) into this hole and push in.. You are operating the mechanism
manually, so you need to press quite firmly, but obviously not too hard!
