In our little rural school we're using a Win2k Advanced
Server on our network, w/ AD. I'd like to be able to
share CD-ROMs to our (mostly win98) workstations. There's
a program for example, that requires the cd-rom to run.
I've got enough licenses, and enough cd-roms, but it's
really a hassle for the teachers to have to load the cd's
into each workstation. Is there a way I can point the
workstations to one of the 3 scsi cd-roms on the server?
If someone can even suggest a strategy, I'll figure it
out, but I haven't had much luck in the Knowledge Base on
this one.
Thanks,

Share the CD drive on the server, point to the share. Basic
networking and sharing.

Place the CD images on the server. It will be faster.
There are also programs that make the images existing on
server appear like CD-ROMs also.
