cd-rom drive

Please help! i have a problem with both my dvd/cd-rom drive and with my cd-writer drive. they have worked fine for ages but now the drive ligh for the writer is on constantly and the tray won't open. also my cd-rom drive isn't recognised, i get the error messgae: No CD/DVD-ROM drive found. also in my compuet neiyther of the drives appear at all so i can't seem to check them or reinstall them. the problem doesn't happen every time, it seems to go through stages, very strange

Any help would be greatly appreciated, cheers!

I am seeming to have a simallar problem. First my DVD drive went down so i put a new one in and its fine then next day my other cd drive stopped being recognized its giving me an error saying there was a problem with the paging to a mapped file
