In my tower I have an old Sony CRX 140E cd-rewriter, which came as part of
the original set-up. I would now like to replace the unit with a DVD
burner/re-writer. My question is, as I cannot find the original software
which came with the Sony, can I just disable or remove the unit in my
hardware set-up and then replace it with a dvd rewriter. Many thanks for any
help or advice given.

It is quite simple. Just unplug the old drive and plug in the new
drive. Windows will do everything else for you ;)

Just make sure you hook everything up inside correctly.

Your reply was just what I wanted to hear, thank you very much. I am running both Nero version 63117 and Power DVD XP. Thank you again.
