CD Recording

When I wish to copy or download a file to either one
of my 2 cd drives (a DVD and a CDROM) I must first go to the
properties section of the desired CD and check the box enabling
recording on that CD first. How can I enable recording on these
two CD cdives constantly without having to enabling it first.

You can only enable CD recording for one device at a time.

Wes:
I was not attempting to record on both CD's at the same
time. I wanted to have the two CD drives available to record
to when needed without checking the boxes under 'recording'
in the properties section of each drive before use. I use one drive
to save downloads of applications and the other for storing
photographs on but never recording on both drives at the same time

It doesn't matter if you try to record on one at a time, Windows will only
allow you to *enable* CD recording for one device at a time.

The only way around this is to use third-party burning software. With
third-party software you usually uncheck Enable CD recording on this drive
anyway.

Enable CD recording on this drive, this setting turns on the built-in CD
recording features included with Windows XP. Third-party programs sometimes
disable this setting.
