cd problems

all of the sudden - win xp pro will not read any of the files or run any
cd's on my 2 cd rom drives - can someone help me figure out how to get them
working? I uninstlled and reinstalled them thru devices - but still not
working - when I put a cd in - the light goes on .... stays on red and if I
try to open up the cd in explorer - I can click on the drive letter, but
nothing shows up in the right section for files.....HELP

Im having the same problem Pam. I went to http://www.dougknox.com/xp/scripts_desc/xp_cd_dvd_fix.htm and tried a sugested fix, but it didn't work for me. Let me know if you found a way to fix this.
