CD players all have yellow blobs

I uninstalled "Sonic" DVD software, and now my CDRW, DVDRW and CDROM drives
have yellow blobs against them.
Tried following the Microsoft knowledge base fix but cannot find any of the
files listed in my machine.
Any ideas please.

Check Event Viewer and Device Manager for errors and or non-starting
devices.
