I really like Windows Media Player and it works fine, but
why can I not use the CD player that comes with Windows
XP? I cannot play CD's using this medium, only the
Windows Media Player.

Anyone know?

What media player are you asking about? Windows Media Player (WMP) is th
one that comes with WindowsXP!!! There are many others, you may have Rea
Player, Musicmatch Jukebox, WinAmp, Quicktime, etc.

I am using WMP in Windows XP Home, but trying to use the
CD player that is in accessories.

Thanks!

In Accessories, the WMP (Windows Media Player) is the default MS CD player.
If you have a burner installed it probably came with 3rd party installation disk
such as Nero or Roxio.

You are correct. I have Nero Burning Rom installed. Why is
this an issue with the CD player in accessories?
