here is what i get from my cd player when i try to play
it:

mitsumi cd-rom fx4821t!a - Windows cannot start this
hardware device because its configuration information (in
the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)

now what can i do?

Open Device Manager and remove the drive.

Control Panel -> System -> Hardware -> Device Manager.

Highlight the drive and remove it from Device Manager. Reboot the
machine. Allow XP to detect the drive again. It should install the
built in driver.

Hi,
open Device Manager,,highlight the CD-ROM and uninstall it.Now reboot
the machine XP will detect the device automatically.

Hi,

Here is the fix for Code 19:

Save the file below to your hard drive. Navigate to where you saved it and
double click the file. A confirmation dialog will appear when the script is
done. You may need to reboot for the change to take effect.
