CD installshield wizzard software not working. Help!

I have vista home premium. Upon placing a CD (game) into the drive the
installshield wizzard starts up. HOWEVER, as soon as it starts to transfer
the game onto hard drive (C) it stops abruptly telling me the the setup has
been interrupted and after which it closes. This has never happened before no
matter how old the game. Any body any ideas on how to correct this fault?

Have you tried running the installer in compatibility mode?

Tip: Also, there are a few games (2d, of course) that I used to run on XP
which I now run on XP in a virtual machine on my Vista desktop for a variety
of reasons. It works very well.

but how would I acces the compatibility mode - to date I have always placed
the disk in the drive and let the computer take over.

Cancel the splash screen and then locate the setup.exe file. Right click on
it and choose Properties and you should see the compatibility tab.
