CD/DVD Driver Puzzle

I'm working with a Sharp laptop running XP Pro. The laptop is six months old.
I ran into a problem where the CD Driver became inaccessible then Windows
suddenly displayed the message that new hardware was found and it wanted to
install a driver that was not signed by Microsoft. I didn't know what made
this happen, but I said OK. The drive now has a Yellow warring icon being
displayed in device manager showing there is a problem with that device.

I made a ghost backup and contacted Sharp Support. They restored the system
with a recovery CD and it works. They I restored the HD back to an earlier
Ghost image and the same problem comes back.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

TG

Looks like the "Ghost" has the ghost in it. Repair it again and create a
new "Ghost".

This is not a Ghost problem. This is a problem involving a missing or corrupt
driver in XP. Any other suggestion?
