What do I have to do so that when I insert a disk the autorun opens the
drive programme?

JB

Unless you've modified the default to "Take No Action", Autoplay
should start automatically. You can check the AutoPlay status on
the drive with Tweak-UI powertoy for XP. The option location is
found under My Computer, AutoPlay. Drives shows which letter
assignments are enabled for AutoPlay and Handlers shows what
type of actions are available.
Direct download link for the latest version of Tweak-UI:

JB,
Copy and paste the following into either a 'Command Prompt' or the "Run"
box on the 'Start Menu':

reg DELETE
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer /v
NoDriveTypeAutoRun /f

(*NB The above command should be all on one line but may not appear so due
to line-wrap Please ensure the command begins with 'reg' and ends in '/f')

This will restore Window's 'Autorun' feature for CD/DVD drives or any
removable drive.

Hope this helps.
