CD-DVD Burning P4C800-E Problems

My Setup is

SATA Raid with 2 WD-Raptor's Main Drives
IDE 0 1 WD 120 Gig HD
IDE 1 1 Plextor 708 DVD+RW
1 Plextor 48-24-48A CD-R

The Promise controller is not used... (Soon another Raid to be added)

Having problems getting the burn speed that I had B4 I changed motherboards

Getting about 14-20X on both (burning CD's)
and only 2X on DVD's

Any Ideas????

I have the same motherboard, 2 Raptor SATA HDs (10K, RAID0 on Promise) and
same DVD burner. I went 0 for 10 with Ritek DVD+RW disks and 5 for 5 with
Philips. Ritek 40X CD-Rs have been OK so far.

How are you measuring your burn rates? Are you failing at higher rates?
Always, or sometimes?

Hi Imer,

Running about 50% on the burns.. Using Memorex or Verbatim..

When I run CD speed test (Nero) it gets up to 20X and then crashes to about
2X and starts up again...
