CD Drives both run in slow motion

Have win XP updated puter gave to 14 yr old ,have installed new poineer dvd r/rw writer,sound blaster card.........both cd drives run in slow motion............not know if problem was there before, had no sound. I'm not bad with 98 but XP run right over my head. PLEASE SOME ONE HEL

Hi,

Check jumper settings, and it may help to swap positions (make the slave the
master and vice-versa).
