cd drive and dvd drive dissappeared

after having my pc for around about 4 or so months, my cd
drive and dvd drive have just disappeared,b ut after
further inspection, i discovered in my hardware manager i
have a yellow surronded exclamtion mark, and in properties
it says my driver may be missing or corrupted, i have
downloaeded the latest xp updates relevant to me, and for
drivers, can anyone help me?

Drivers frm WinXp update can be problomatic, use hardware manu site.
Having said that in hardware mngr, remove offending hardware, one at a time.
Reboot to see if they reinstall correctly.
