CD Corrupt -- Need Prog to get Data

I've got data on a CD and it's somehow corrupt -- XP just won't read
it. Don't know how much is there, but the burned part is only about
1/4". I have CD Roller from eons ago and gave that a try -- it's
getting the data, but I get no progress report. I let it run for 7
hours -- HOURS -- and it was still chugging along.

I'm worried about the laptop's internal CD drive overheading. Seven
HOURS is quite a load.

Is there any other software that can extract data from the CD faster
than that?

Thank you for your suggestions.

I have no idea about the speed. Here's a link I acquired for retrieving
data from CD's. I haven't used it.

BadCopy Pro (CD recovery) - http://www.jufsoft.com/badcopy/

If the data is crucial and cost is not an issue, contact a professional
data recovery company like Drive Savers.

XP just won't read it. <<

Put the cd into another computer, preferably a desktop (better cooling)
and see if the data is accessable... if so, make a copy off of that
computer.
