CD Burning problem

I use Windows media player to burn mix CDs. Sometimes however if I have to
edit tracks and so forth I will use Nero Startsmart and the problem arises
afterward when the CD cannot be read by Windows. Someone suggested it may
have to do with the writing speed of the drive. Can projects compiled with
one program be burned by Windows later?

Hello and thanks for the response. Windows will tell me the file format is
not supported if when I attempt to play a CD burned in Nero - the burn is
always supposedly successful but Windows or my stereo does not recognize it.
Why is this when every track I've burned has been a WMA? The result I think
is the same if I choose the 'All Files' option in Nero.

If you are burning WMA (or other track formats) to a MUSIC/AUDIO CD then
it should play in any CD player. If you are burning a DATA CD, so the
file are basically being copied, unchanged, then YMMV with the
capabilities of each CD player.
