CD Burner Problem

I have a Ricoh MP7120A burner that I've been using for
the past two years with no problems. Now I'm having a
problem with CD-RW discs that already contain
information. These discs cannot be erased (no erase
option appears), the files cannot be viewed, the discs
cannot be written to and, if I access System Info, it
says there is no valid media in the drive.

All other types of discs work as expected, including
blank CD-RW's, CD-R's (blank and those containing
information), and program CD's. The used CD-RW discs CAN
be viewed on my DVD drive.

The only software changes I've made in the past 6 months
have been updates from Microsoft (I'm running Win XP
Home).

Any suggestions or thoughts as to the problem. Thanks.

Can you refer me to a source that explains the process of
reinstalling my packet writing and UDF software?

By the way, I don't know if it's of significance to your
recommendation, but I'm using the generic burn software
that is part of Win XP (which I believe is a Roxio
product).

Thanks.

You must install a third party UDF reader. Just use Google and search for
UDF Reader.
