cd burn - no disc in drive?

I have tried on 2 different computers to burn picture
files to a cd using windows internal burning software.
One pc is a Toshiba Notebook and the other is an HP
Pavillion. I get through the entire process to write
files to cd, name the cd and then I get an error that
there is not a disc in the disc drive. I have tried
brand new discs in both drives and it will not recognize
them. What is the problem????

Dont use XP's builtin burning. Use CD Creator
or INCD which is part of Nero.
