cc and bcc delivery receipts

Could someone please explain to me how Outlook 2007 handles delivery
receipts? What if I request a delivery receipt for a message that has a
contact in Cc: and/or Bcc: Do I get a receipt from everyone? If the message
is not delivered to one of the recipients, how can I know? Also, it seems
that if I do not get a receipt from one of the recipients, the message stay
in my Outbox and never goes into my Sent folder, even though I get delivery
receipts from at least one of the recipients. I'm confused.....did they get
it or not? The message in the Outbox says "this message has not been sent"
at the top.
Thanks in advance

I believe you should, provided the recipients' mail servers honor delivery
receipt requests. Delivery receipt requests are handled by the recipien't
mail server and not by their mail client. Many mail servers do not honor
delivery receipt requests. Even when they do, a receipt is not an
indication that your recipient received the message, only that it was
delivered to their mailbox.

know?

If it's not delivered, you should eventually get a non-delivery report.
This may take a week to get to you, since each router along the path between
you and the recipient can take up to five days before it deceides it can't
deliver the message.
Also, it seems that if I do not get a receipt from one of the
recipients, the message stay in my Outbox and never goes into my Sent
folder, even though I get delivery receipts from at least one of the
recipients.

Delivery receipts should have nothing to do with this. What type of account
are you using?

I am connected to a Microsoft Exchange server. My messages get
"automatically" sent and delivered. What would cause a message to stay in
the Outbox? Would that happen if one of the recipients' addresses were
invalid? I have proof the message was delivered to "valid" addresses.
