Catlyst release notes question

Hi, all. I'm not a real "techie" guy, I can almost make out what most of
you are saying here. I have a not-too-techie question for you all.
I have windows Xp, and an ATI Radeon 9000 (pro? I'm not sure)
I recently downloaded and installed Catalyst 3.6, the release notes for
which says;
The CATALYSTT software suite 3.6 contains the following:

a.. RADEONT display driver 7.91
Yet, after installation, when I go into the properties for my card, it
says I'm using driver version 6.14.10.6368
What am I missing, or what do I still need to do? Admittedly, I don't
understand what all of the .##.#### means, seems to me, that after .99,
it would just go to the next whole number.
Alright, any help appreciated.

i think the 6.14... is the '2d version', whereas the 7.19 is the 'display
driver'...
in 'display properties(right click desktop)/settings/advanced/options tab'
has the version information etc.
