Category by Last Name

I have a number of categories set in my 2003 Outlook contacts list. Some of
the names are alphabetized and some are not in each of the categories.

Is there a way to alphabetize all the names within a particular category?

Thanks,

Dennis

Russ,

I have "Contacts" selected and under Current View I have "By Category"
selected.
The View menu at the top has "Arrange by: "Categories" and "Show View in
Navigation Pane" checked. Navigation Pane is also selected under View.

The left two inches of the screen has Contacts in a dark blue background
with My Contacts on a lighter blue background under and Current View with By
Category selected under that.

The right side of the screen has the different categories listed vertically
that can be opened up to see the names.

Is this what you are looking for?

Use the Detailed or Simple List view, show the columns you want to see
(field chooser), click the column (eg Last Name) you want to sort by, THEN
use the group by box to group by Category. That should have alphabetical as
well as the grouping.

That sounds like a good solution. I'll give it a try.

Thanks,

Dennis

Russ,

I couldn't find the "show the columns..." But I went under Current View and
selected the radio button by By Category. Then below the list of views was
Open Shared Contacts... and Customize Current View. I selected Customize
Current View... and discovered Sort had "none" by it. I selected Last Name
ascending and all is now fine.

Not sure why I couldn't get there under Address Cards or Detailed Address
Cards, but you got me poking around.

Thanks,

Dennis

Because the Address Card views are not List views. Only List views show
column headers, which you can then R click to bring up "Field Chooser" to
add other columns to your view.
