Catalyst 3.8 problems persist

Downloaded catalyst 3.8 and ran into some problems.

(1) The screen flickers once in awhile (I've heard the cause of this
is the driver? trying to get the right screen resolution).

(2) When in a game, if I alt-tab out then back in the screen is messed
up, it either flickers constantly (no image displayed, just a window
and white screen)or the screen doesn't load properly in the case of MS
FS2002. Sounds can be heard in the second case but the screen is
basically all black or partly black. Words are visible in menus but
graphics don't show.

I tried going back to catalyst 3.7 uninstalled catalyst 3.8 then
rebooted, installed 3.7 but the problem is still present.

I'm running Win XP
P4 1.6GHz
ATI Radeon 9500 PRO 128MB
Sound blaster Live value ed.
asus p4g8x deluxe mobo
512mb ddr RAM

Check out www.omegacorner.com and read the latest readme for the "2496B" version
that he just released. He might have fixed some of your issues.

I've been quite busy for the last week, sorry for the late response.
Thanks much for the tip I'll look into that.
