Cat 3.10 still crashing with COD.

Hi All,

I have a AIW 8500. I had Cat 3.9 with the ATI patch to fix
crashes in Call Of Duty. Everything worked perfectly with
CAT 3.9 and ATI's COD fix. The COD fix ATI posted seemed
like a BETA of CAT 3.10. Anyway, after upgrading to CAT 3.10,
the crashes are back again! Has anyone seen this scenario? I've
already chopped off my ring, middle and index fingers for upgrading
a setup that worked. Seems like the COD fix ATI posted did not
make into the CAT 3.10 build. And I've changed NOTHING in
either my OS or COD's setup, more ATI f-ed up driver issues.

I had problem with 3.9, 3.8 was fine and 3.10 seems to have fixed all my
problems.

I'm using 9800Pro, XP2600, 512Mb Ram, WinXPSP1

the 3.10s caused graphical problems for me - textures would render without
the bi or tri linear filtering and everything would look odd - grainy. Same
for KotOR which is also OpenGL. My card is a 9100 (same chip as 8500) and
there are other similar posts on Rage3d forums so I reckon 3.10 has a
buggered OpenGL driver for 8500/9100 cards. Went back to 3.9s and all is
well.
p.s. most ppl have crashing with VPU recovery since it was introduced so
make sure you disable that staright away.

Thanks Sleepy. I disabled VPU recovery yesterday and I still
get crashes in the game Call Of Duty. And I am seeing the
grainy renders you described. Looks like I'm going back to
3.9 as well.

Ati should go back to Cat3.7 and start all over again!

Ever think that the COD problems might be caused by the programmers of
COD?

Ak

I'm still running the 3.7's and have played right through COD twice now..
(superb game) and I've had no issues at all.

I have had no problems on COD using either 3.9, the hotfix or 3.10
drivers... the 3.10s appear to work well with everything so far.

The 3.10's were supposed to fix the COD problem.
