Casper XP - any opinions/experience?

I need a simple-but-fast cloning utility to clone
single bootable partitions from one hard drive to
another. I don't need image files or incremental
file backup or entire hard drive transfers.
Casper XP sounds like it might come close: http://www.fssdev.com/products/casperxp/
Does anyone have personal experience with this
software that you would like to share?

Reams of questions about various potential cloners.

What is wrong with True Image for cloning.

You can boot the rescue CD and do it from there if you want.

For a no-frills clone under XP, nothing comes close.

Beware it *is* a simple program - but it works second to none.

Acronis True Image insists on cloning the entire hard drive,
not just a specific partition.

Can the SmartClone feaure be turned off? I always
want to clone the *entire* partition and I don't want to
waste time with mapping out what was copied the last
time.

I got a reply from Future Systems Solutions regarding
the SmartClone feature of Casper XP:

"While Casper XP's SmartClone functionality can be disabled, there really is
no reason to do so unless you are having some specific problem. The results
are the same. To get a better understanding of how the technology actually
works, there is a technology brief available online that you may find
helpful.

If you really want to disable SmartClone, follow this procedure:

1) Start Casper XP
2) Click Explore
3) From the Tools menu, click Options
4) On the Advanced tab, in the Copy settings section, click Settings
5) Check the "Disable incremental cloning" check box.
6) Check the "Disable pre-image analysis" check box.
7) Click OK to apply and close the Advanced Copy Settings dialog
8) Click OK to close the Options dialog
9) Click Exit from the File menu"
