carmageddon 2 won't run on xp. carma 3 tdr 2000 is no problem , but even
using win 98 compatability mode for carma 2 , it's a no go. the game
installs , allows the menu's and options screens to run ,but when you click
to start the actual game it returns to the desktop .my machine more than
meets all the requirements and all the game settings (graphics etc. ) are
correct , does anybody have the same problem ? Any help would be greatly
appriciated . Thanks -crazy 4 carma

You might have to apply the compatibility mode to the executable file of
the game as well if you have used it to install the game.

Thanks Thomas
I tried that already, but I'm wondering if perhaps compatability mode should
be applied to quicktime as well since the install program requires it ? I
actually got the game to work last nite ,but didn't have the controller
plugged in , so when I shut down the game to connect it and restarted the
game it just crashed. If I had it connected I would probably still be playing
it now. any thoughts as to why this would happen ? Anyone ? Again , thanks
for your help . Carma Crazy.

Two possible ways:

1. Try to look for a newer version of Quicklime at their website:
http://www.quicktime.com/
2. Have a look what happened when the program shut down in event
viewer: click start\run, enter eventvwr.msc into the box, click ok and
have a look in the application folder as well as the system folder if
you get any error messages.

Post back with observations
