capturing video

hi this is my first post im trying to capture video using sony picture
package but all it will let me do is make a mini movie with music over
please help its driving me nuts model is dcrhc18e

with a firewire/iLink connection, you should be able to come directly into
Movie Maker with full digital video quality... with a USB connection you are
limited...
