Capturing video from DV camcorder

When attempting to capture video from my JVC camcorder it is recognised by
Movie Maker but then I get the message 'an interface has too many methods to
fire events from'. I cannot then get any further.
Any ideas on what is causing this? Could it be some incompatability with the
software bundled with the camera?

Sounds like you're trying to connect the camcorder by USB and not by
firewire.

Sorry to wade in on this. I'm trying to capture video into movie maker from a
mini dv camcorder through a USB port. I take it that doesn't work? Do I
require firewire out from the camcorder and into the processor?

Hi. Thanks for replying. My camcorder only has USB. does WMM not work well
(at all?) with a USB connection?

USB is generally too slow (even USB2.0) for digital video and WMM won't see
it. If it's coming through USB, try the third party software that came with
the camcorder. Which make and model is it?
