Capturing analog video

Hi, I'm trying to capture movies from my analog video tapes, which are in PAL
format. I'm using a nvidia video card with Video In and nvidia WDM capture
driver. But no matter of the capturing software I'm using, I cannot capture
in 25 fps. When I'm trying to capture in 25 fps the movie is skipping and the
movement is not smooth. But when I'm capturing in 30 fps the picture is
smooth except that the movie length becomes much shroter than the original
one. I'm wondering if this is a hardware problem (may be my video card does
not support capturing in 25 fps, although it says it is PAL compatible - ASUS
V6800 DDR Deluxe) or this is s software problem (may be the WDM drivers do
not support capturing 25 fps or there should be some special setting of
DirectShow). I'll greatly appreciate any help solving this problem.

You might try downloading and installing WM9 series encoder from windows
media. It can adjust to PAL,also get the authoriting utilities, then codec
installation
pkg.You might eliminate youre problems with a diffrent encoder.
