capture

I`m now needing to reboot after I capture a vhs clip with canopus advc-100,
which inputs a digital file into the pc with firewire. I am using windows
movie maker2 which comes with the sp2 upgrade to xp and can`t be reinstalled
without reinstalling xp. I think I must have deleted a file when using
spyware or antivirus or cleaning the pc, because those were the only
manipulations I was doing before this disaster happened to a very stable
system for creating edited home movies on dvd from old vhs tapes. any ideas???

Hello,

Are you saying canopus advc-100 is causing problems or Movie Maker 2 (You
can re-install Movie Maker by re-installing SP2 by the way)

What happens if you use the software that came with the canopus???

You do not say why you have to reboot or what error message (if any) you
get

Truthfully, I am not an Instant Expert, But I know someone who is going to
have to try a LOT harder
