Capture cuts

When I use my 'logitech quickcam chat' usb webcam to capture video directly
onto windows movie maker version 2.1.4026.0 it records fine.

But once i hit finish on the video capture wizard window, for any video
greater than about 4 seconds, the thumbnail for the clip starts off as a big
red cross saying
"Windows Movie Maker cannot find "untitled.wmv"" that this clip refers to.
Double click the clip to locate the missing file.

This is not the only problem, I only mention it because I think it might be
related to the big problem.

The big problem is that my video captures have completely random lengths.
They record to a minute with no problem but once i hit finish then try to
play them they can be anywhere between 8 seconds and 1.33 minutes.

Please help.

....erm bump
I'd still like some help. Even if it's just an expert saying they're stumped
or someone sying they need more info.

my rule of thumb is to try it... if it works fine... if not, as in your
case, you should use other software like whatever came with your webcam to
do the capturing, and then do file conversions as needed to get the video
into Movie Maker.

more and more over time, USB connected devices don't work with Movie
Maker.... be happy if it does, but don't spend too much energy trying to
make it work if it doesn't.
