Capture as DV AVI

Hi there

I have WXP, Sony DCR-TRV18E, and MM2. When I want to capture a video as DV AVI, the process does not take place. The time counter stops at 3 sec's, and so does the file size counter, even though the video is still played on the preview pane

Can anyone help me
