Cant't open Control Panel

Just installed xp on computer. Did updates including SP2 and installed Quick
books. Other than that it is a clean machine. Went to open control panel and
got "send error to microsoft" choice. How can this be fixed? Tried opening
from run but got same message.

See if the error report is registered in the event log.
